The Power of God Work on Our Weaknesses

2 Corinthians 12 : 1~10

⁹ But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. ¹⁰ That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Ludwig Van Beethoven ear disease before the age of 30 years, as a result he became totally deaf. Imagine how sad a song composer if he became deaf. In his grief, he wrote "I feel lonely, very lonely. But I feel that God is near." Beethoven many devotional reading books, and his love of books is a bouquet of Imitation Christi Thomas A. Kempis. Beethoven also knows how to pray and his relationship with God is very deep and personal. In the midst of frustration and discouragement, Beethoven turned to God, the source of that power, so he can say, "I put all of my faith in the goodness of the eternal God! My soul will rejoice in the Lord, a substance which is eternal. Be mountain my rock, my light, my faith forever!" Although Beethoven was deaf, but he remained prolific throughout his life and generated so many symphonies, oratorios, opera, and piano sonatas were amazing.

How often do we only focus we look at limitations and shortcomings. We complained on weakness, not on what we have and ignore our strengths, forget what we got. We feel useless in a fight, so we easily give up because it was too busy looking at our limitations.

In fact,our weakness, our inability, limitations, shortcomings incompleteness even though we physically can be used by God to proclaim His power. God is able to fill us with the strength that comes from Him, so that with all our limitations, what we have can still be used for things that are good and outstanding.

We will continue to grow in strength, passion, and joy if we continue to build a relationship with God in heaven. Stop focusing on weaknesses, but continues to maximize what is in us. God is able to bless us in an extraordinary way, through whatever is on us today, and he could wear it to express His power over our lives.

Afterthought

It is precisely in weakness, the power of God to be perfect.
